A Photo of the Extended Schulz Family in 1906

This may be a repeater, but I'm not sure everyone has seen it.  The location is the Tobias & Wilhelmina Schulz home west of Clifton.  The Schulz brothers are standing on the ground to the left.  With them are nephew, Walter Rachuig, Sr., and niece, Hilda Rachuig Krueger.  The children are the son and daughter of their sister, Selma Schulz Rachuig.  

I'm not certain of the women and children in the middle of the porch, but Tobias and Wilhelmina stand on the left.  Selma and her husband Julius Rachuig are standing on the right of the porch.  Selma is holding their son Edgar, whom I've used to date this picture.

 

Tobias & Wilhelmina Hunger Schulz 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1923

I had forgotten that Wilhelmina Hunger and Tobias Schulz were married 140 years ago this month in Crottendorf, Saxony, Germany.

I have better pictures of their 50th anniversary celebration in Clifton.  I'll post them soon, but this is the best I can do on short notice.  This photo was taken at their oldest daughter's in-laws home on Hackberry Street in Clifton.  Their children, grandchildren, and a few of their great-grandchildren appear in this picture.

Tobias & Wilhelmina Schulz Family around 1900

My aunt, Mayme Rachuig Hause, sent me these pictures. I'd never seen them before. I'm guessing at the date. They show the Schulz family. I can identify the boys in the back row: Hugo, Bernhardt (Uncle Ben) & Bruno. I have a harder time with the girls. Maybe someone can help me: Selma in the back row with her brothers, Martha Alinda next to her mother in front, & Anna Kamilla by her father.

The second picture shows the two younger brothers, Hugo on the left & Bruno on the right.

(Update) I got this info from my aunt, Mayme Rachuig Hause. "Chuck, the daughter on the front row right is Martha Alinda and the one above her is Anna Camilla and on the far right is Selma Martha. The boys are left to right Hugo, Victor, Bernhardt Franz [Ben] and Bruno Georg. A boy andf a girl [Albert and Ella] died before they came to America."

Tobias & Wilhemina Schulz's 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1923

This photo shows the extended Schulz family celebrating Tobias & Wilhelmina's 50th wedding anniversary on June 8, 1923. The location for this photo is the home of Julius & Selma Rachuig. It still stands on Hackberry Street in Clifton. Selma was the couple's oldest daughter. I have a newspaper account of the celebration which I'll post later.

Herbert Schulz, oldest attendee at the recent family reunion, is one of the little guys in the front. I'll bet he's the one next to his grandfather's left knee.

Schulz Family At The Family Home, 1904

I remember finding this photo among my grandfather's documents and wondering, "Why do we have pictures of a Mexican family in our family archives?" I got a magnifying glass and looked closer. I recognized the children first: "That's Uncle Walter and Aunt Hilda!" Then I began recognizing the adults, my great-grandparents first and then the others. Then I recognized the house. There's another picture taken at the same time with different poses. I used the children's ages to estimate the date, which must be sometime around 1904.



Here's a photo of the house taken in the early 1960s - I'm guessing at the same time as the reunion photo shown below.

This is a photo of Tobias and Wilhelmina on their way to church in 1923. They are standing at the front gate of their home north of Clifton, Texas.
