Alma Viertel Knudson

My thanks go to Dorothy Krueger Mansur for bringing this photo to the recent reunion.  It's undated, but it shows Alma Viertal as a young woman.  Her parents were Martha Alinda Schutz and Otto Gustav Viertel.  Their family tree (page 3) is in the upper-right column of this blog.  Her husband was Gustav Conrad Knudson.  My records show she had one son, Howard Hance Knudson, born in 1944.

Bruno Viertel & Laura Lange

My aunt sent me this 1949 wedding photo of Bruno Conrad Viertel & Laura Emilie Lange. Bruno was the son of Otto Viertel & Martha Schulz, whose parents were Tobias & Wilhelmina Schulz.

Laura was a descendent of the Rachuig family. Her parents were Richard Lange & Lydia Rachuig, whose parents were August & Henrietta Rachuig. This is one of several instances of inter-marriage between the two families.

Adolph Julius Viertel

I found this tribute to Adolph Julius Viertel on the Internet. He was a grandson of Tobias & Wilhelmina Schulz. (His mother was their daughter, Martha Schulz. His father was Otto Viertel.)

Bruno Konrad Viertel

Here is an obituary my aunt sent me. I remember Bruno, who attended Schulz family reunions well into his later years. I tried to find a picture of him in my archive, but I wasn't successful. If anyone has a photo, I'll add it to this blog.

Notice that Bruno is a descendant of the Tobias & Wilhelmina Schulz family, but he married into the August & Henrietta Rachuig family. This is another instance of close relations between two families in the Clifton community.
